There is no formal training required to work as a pharmacy technician in Wyoming. Many people learn how to perform the duties of a pharmacy technician by completing an on-the-job training. Other pharmacy technicians complete a post-secondary education program. These programs can be found at community colleges and vocational schools. These programs cover a variety of subjects, including medication dispensing, pharmacy ethics and laws and record keeping.

After completing the education and training, pharmacy technicians will be eligible to apply for a state license. One must submit an application to the state board. They are also required to pass a background check. A pharmacy technician license is valid for two years.
